V. CHR. SCHILLING, Suhl, gold inlaid on side plate made "peanut-size" derringer, cal. .32 percussion,
2 ½" hexagonal barrel on top with gold inlaid inscription    JOSE MARIA RODALLEGAS. The lock with side plate, hammer and trigger guard nicely engraved, the stock carved and with silver tacks decorated, the lock with "faux lock" to make it appear like it fires two shots. For this tiny derringer certainly uncommon set triggers. Without doubt one of the very best made and most decorative derringers!
Støckel: Valentin Christoph Schilling, Suhl, Prussia, later known as maker of the Reichsrevolver. I have no information about Rodallegas.
Extremely decorative Lady's "peanut size" derringer    $4,000.

Springfield - Warner's Patent double trigger revolver, on grip number 23, cal. .31 percussion, 5" barrel with fixed sight and loading lever attached to the bottom of the barrel. The revolver was designed to circumvent Colt's patents. It was not successful, and according to Flayderman's Guide # 7A-110 only 125 made. After 150 years there are not many remaining, and this is the first in my possession. It is not marked, and the function might need some adjusting (?) Interesting, between the back
straps a metal plate as shown in the picture.
The metal is grayish, strong traces of varnish
on grips. Very good condition     $1,650.

cal. .36 percussion, no visible serial number, 7⅛" octagonal barrel with fine inscription on top, two piece plain walnut grips with saw-handle shaped back-strap, rounded iron frame. One hammer to revolve the cylinder which pushes forwards onto the barrel to keep it gas-sealed, the smaller hammer is to fire.  The function is perfect. This is a very rare revolver in very good condition, and some are used during the Civil War. Circa 100 made, and there are after 140 years only few survivors. Flayderman's #  7A-092    $8,250.

an exceptional pair of flintlock pistols, cal. 55 with a rifled muzzle. The flat part of the part round, part octagonal browned barrel shows in silver letters the maker's name. Better than average, the pistols have set-triggers. The lock kept in the white, while butt-plate, trigger guard and other metal parts are brass.
