Blades and Barrels or "cut 'n shoot"

BLADES AND BARRELS
six centuries of combination weapons
by H. GORDON FROST

This is the complete reference on the history of combination weapons over the past six centuries. The inside jacket reads "Blades and Barrels is the first full scale study ever written about man's attempt to combine an edged weapon with a firearm. Tracing the development of combination weapons from the hand cannon through the center fire ignition systems, this book fills a long recognized gap in firearms literature."
The book covers knife pistols, cutlass pistols, mace pistols, axe pistols and war hammer pistols. In depth studies of companies such as Unwin & Rodgers, Harrington & Richardson, Frank Wesson, Colt, Boden and Dolne. Contains 400 photographs from private and museum collections, the author spent over 20 years researching and compiling this information. Copyright 1972. The book is out of print, a very rare and important reference.

If somebody likes to sell one book,  I'm always interested.

combination 7mm pinfire revolver with swing-out knuckle duster and 3½" swing-out dirk. The handy gun is called "Apache" after the thugs in Paris, who supposedly carried those. The cylinder axis can be removed and used as ejector for the shells. Serial # 2225, all steel variation with fluted cylinder. At the beginning the revolver was plated, but it is now worn off.
A desirable oddity in "very good" condition.    $3,250.

J. DELHAXHE, Liège, made knuckle duster revolver with folding dirk and square frame, serial # 848, cal. 7mm pinfire. While the few others I found have an ejector rod screwed in the frame, please see Chris Curtis' Pinfire book, page 271, this revolver is not built for an ejector rod. In a publication by Theodore Dexter "Frank E. Bivens, Half Century Scrapbook of Vari-Type-Firearms, 1960", # 432, I found the classification "presentation type" supported by the additional decoration, and it is from the knuckle dusters the rarest variation. Excellent condition.      $7,875.
