finely engraved with the mythical bandit-devil riding a goat backwards with a broom stick up the derriere

 

 

 

 

 

a pair of Tanner in Hannover made tube lock pistols, with a rotating chamber breech loading device, about .30 cal.  These pistols have the hammer on the side what we call a "mule ear".
7½" round barrel with dovetail front sight, set trigger, crisp checkered grip with engraved butt cap, flared as typical for the 1850's period.  Finely engraved with the mythical bandit-devil riding a goat backwards with a broom stick up the derriere.
