officer's + target pistols, circa 1820
an exceptional pair of flintlock pistols, cal. 55 rifled. The
flat part of the part round, part octagonal browned barrel shows in silver
letters the maker's name. Better than average, the pistols have set-triggers for
use as target pistols.
As fashionable at the time the lock kept in the white, while butt-plate, trigger guard and other metal
parts are brass. Fully shafted, checkered grip with flared butt.
One ramrod is missing,
other wise the pair are in fine
condition. $5,000.
