Remington Navy revolver, NAVY accepted















Remington Navy Conversion revolver, NAVY accepted showing the anchor. conversion # 184 under the barrel, caliber .38,  7½" octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and 3-line maker's inscription, additional the anchor, with ejector rod and loading gate, the barrel showing circa 50% blue, frame and cylinder brownish patina, the hammer is case hardened, the grip shows some wear. With a strong spring in perfect working order and fine condition. Flayderman's 5E-022.5. In the book  Colt Revolvers and the U.S. Navy 1865 - 1889 by C. Kenneth Moore is a great feature about these Remington Conversions, pages 63 - 74, problems and solution.
Less than 1,000 were made and NAVY accepted pieces are today very rare.    $4,500.
