an early percussion pair of dueling pistols, exceptional quality made for somebody well-to-do because the gold-inlaid initials H. S. on the lock plate. Using decorative wood with flared wide grip, 9½" Damascus barrels with fixed sights, cal. 57 percussion, rifled. The lock- plate, back-strap, trigger-guard and butt-plate are along the rims engraved. The pistols as pair numbered 1 and 2.
