MF = Manufacture Liegeoise D'Armes A Feu
StÝckel: circa 1866 - 1929, crowned ML,
Manufacture Liegeoise made an
alternative revolver to the German Reichsrevolver Officer's model 1883. The
officers had to supply their own weapons and some didn't like to buy their
government sponsored models. The revolver is for the Reich's-caliber 10.55
(identical .44 Russian) and is equipped with the left hand safety typical for
the model 1883. Different is the system to remove the cylinder for loading.
Otherwise the appearance is the same with bright bluing and checkered grips,
additional on bridge the two-line inscription CONSTABLER EXCELSIOR.
However the revolver appears to have good timing and seems to function perfectly
other then the spring not returning automatically after firing.
Besides a few marks from usage the antique is in fine condition, $1,200.
