pair of small Belgian made muff pistols, both under barrel marked  L.F. 1076. Because the high quality it is assumed to be made by Le Faure, Paris, in Liège. Caliber .46 percussion, 2½" round barrel with deep groves for screwing / unscrewing for loading with the key into the frame. The frame with butt cap are nicely scroll engraved, the lid can be opened to store some caps. The metal as fashionable for the period kept in the white, choice wooden quality grip. The folding trigger comes out while cocking the hammer. The pair are in good working order and excellent condition.
The pair come in an decorated original leatherette case with combination bullet mold / square screw barrel device, tiny selected wooden powder flask and tin can containing a few caps. The case shows a bit of wear, understandable for something circa 165 years old. A lot of Belgian made Lefaure were sold in their shop in Paris.
Rare and attractive set $3,750.
