StÝckel: 1961 - 1866, Stonington, CT. Benjamin F. Joslyn receives 4. May 1858 patent 20,160 for percussion revolver, from which he sold 1,600 pieces to the US government during the Civil War.

B. F. JOSLYN / PATD. MAY 4. 1858 on flat of 8" octagonal barrel, matching serial # 1418, caliber .44 percussion, checkered walnut grips, distinct right side hammer with  uniquely ribbed firing pin, ramrod under the barrel, iron trigger guard. Apparently the bluing was not very strong and is now patina, minor traces of use, but in good working order.     $4,650.
