M. JAVELLE, St Etienne
Støckel: inventor of the revolver named after him, circa 1860
Taylerson's, The Revolver 1818 - 1865, page 331, patent May 31, 1861 # 1362: Michel Javelle "ingenious tip-down barrel, where the emptied cylinder quickly can be replaced with a loaded one."

JAVELLE M. ST. ETIENNE in front of cylinder is the maker's inscription, serial # 527 under barrel, caliber 9mm pin-fire, 4" octagonal barrel with dovetail front sight and inscription on top flat, circa 80% bright blue on cylinder, frame and barrel, hammer and trigger kept in the white, plain black ebony grip. In good working order and fine+ condition. Unique system with a lever to swing sideways which than allows the barrel to tip down for loading.
According to the literature limited numbers used during the Civil War.    $2,500.

107 on cylnder with a 9mm pin-fire

a not marked Javelle style revolver in 9mm pin-fire, 4" round barrel with typical high front sight additional on top L G engraved, the frame, cylinder and straps nicely engraved, about 80% original bright blue remaining, plain lacquered wooden grips and lanyard ring. The unique system with a lever to swing sideways which than allows the barrel to tip down for loading. The revolver is in good working order and fine condition.
It comes in a wine-red lined leather case with key and the escutcheon  is not marked.
Not marked weapons in this period were usually sold to retailers and mail-order houses, who could place their names if they choose. A desirable set in fine condition.
