GRANT HAMMOND
semi-automatic pistol

one of the rarest and least known U. S. military self-loading pistols, cal. .45 ACP, 6¾" round barrel with fixed sights, 8-shot. Made in 1917 and tested by Army and Navy. A lengthy feature is in Scott Meadows' book Automatic Pistols. Very scarce pistol, because only 18 made. Flayderman's # 8B-003. Former owners are the well known collectors Sidney Aberman, Lt. Col. R. C. Kuhn and the Winchester Museum.

serial # 16 of probably 18 made. According to the seller: this pistol was part of a collection accumulated over 50 years. After the dead of the owner the rest was quickly sold , only # 16 laid on the desk because nobody knew, what it was. Eventually the seller found my website.
