a unique, not before seen 8-shot pepperbox, massive bock with 8 bores, 2 hammers for left or right group of 4 bores, or all 8 bores as a volley, but only  one trigger.  The metal apparently kept in the white with slight engraving of a canon on the right and left side covered with a flag similar to "Stars and Stripes."  a bag shaped plain grip, showing minor  pitting. No maker's name, proof stamp and number, probably a prototype. The caliber is circa .36. percussion.
Function is fine, the condition very good.    $5,000.
