Mauser model 1878 # 2641

Mauser model 1878,  army size Zick-Zack revolver, serial # 2641, cal. 10.55mm Mauser, (= 10.55mm Reichsrevolver, =.44 S&W Russian) often used by officers of the German armies and therefore in the same caliber, 5½" ribbed barrel with fixed front sight and inscription

The hard rubber  grips are crisp and fine.  The revolver shows minor use, however the glossy blue is gone and the metal is grayish. Late model with mandatory German inspection proof. (U with emperor's crown  = Untersuchungsbeschuβ.)
